Registered in the state of New York, this Humvee is a truly unique collector’s piece, a historic military vehicle and certainly a vehicle that will be able to pretty much go anywhere. The Humvee was first dreamed up in 1979 when the military sought to retire its fleet of Jeeps and multi-purpose vehicles, replacing them with one do-all type of vehicle. The specifications called for the ability to travel through water of 5-foot depth, climb a 30-percent grade, traverse a 40-percent slope, offer 16-inches of ground clearance and much more; 61 companies applied to submit proposals, but only three actually produced prototypes, AM General, Chrysler Defense and Teledyne Continental.
