The 5.7L L82 engine drummed up 230 HP, which was a nice bump above the standard 5.7L L48 that was good for 190 HP, and a bigger increase over the 5.0L V-8 engine that produced 180 HP and was only available in California for one year, 1980. The 1980 model year would prove an expensive one for Corvette with the base price increasing four times to just more than $14,000. This car will be sold with the window sticker, bill of sale, dealer copy, build sheet, pre-delivery inspection, EPA fuel-economy rating tag, customer information pamphlet, warranty card and owner's manual, lending a lot to the provenance of this rare Corvette. In 1980, Corvette received an updated body kit lending a higher degree of aerodynamics and style. The front and rear were equipped with aggressive spoilers that helped feed cool air to the radiators up front and capture the wind in the back to create downforce and help the car hold the road better; the same could be said of the front spoiler as well as the wheel-well flares, as everything was about creating downforce.
