1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster 5.3L V-12 engine

Description

5.3L V-12 engine
Four Zenith carburetors
4-speed manual gearbox
4-corner independent suspension
4-wheel hydraulic disc brakes
Sable with Biscuit leather interior
Factory air conditioning
Smiths instruments
Black folding top and tonneau cover
Bright wheel covers
White stripe tires
After a four-year run beginning in 1968, the Series II E-Type bowed to the 1971 Series III equipped with a sophisticated new all-aluminum V-12 engine, stronger 4-wheel independent suspension, upgraded 4-wheel hydraulic disc brakes and a longer wheelbase that enabled roomier interior accommodations. Displacing 5.3L, the V-12 used single overhead cams, two Zenith-Stromberg carburetors per side and one of the first electronic ignition systems in a production car. The V-12 delivered both tremendous torque and turbine-like smoothness with either the standard 4-speed or optional 3-speed automatic transmission, and the Series III preserved the excellent ride and handling of its antecedents, making the final iteration of the classic E-Type a truly outstanding grand touring automobile.
