Description:

I bought this vehicle in 1978 from the original owner with about 25,000 miles and drove it until 1996. During this time it was garaged about 50% of the time. From 1996 to 2009 it was stored outside under a tarp with Dri-Z-Air (that is a desiccant - absorbs moisture from the air) inside the vehicle, since 2009 it has been garaged.

In 1995 I installed an engine from a 1979 Spider with about 19,000 miles on it and then drove about 10,000 miles more.

The original motor comes with the vehicle. It was replaced when the head cracked when I did not have have enough anti-freeze during a cold spell while I was dealing with a radiator leak due to the fan blade that broke. The original motor is setting on a wooden stand with wheels.

Between 1996 and 2003 I would start it every month or so and run for a few minutes to warm it up. From 2003 to 2018 I did not start it. In 2018 I changed the oil and filter and put in fresh gas; it starts readily and to me it seems to run good (hits evenly on all four), I did notice that the idle creeps up once fully warm. Without driving it I can't vouch for how well it pulls under load. It does have the Spica mechanical fuel injection installed.
