Two versions were available that year: the 325 HP L75 and the HO 335 HP variant. Regardless, either engine turned Trans Am into a serious force to be reckoned with, no matter what the competition was driving. This one is fitted the HO 455 and automatic transmission, both of which are matching-numbers units. A 4-barrel carburetor feeds the 455 CI engine, which breathes through a dual exhaust system. The second year of the Second-Generation Firebird Trans Am, these cars were much more stable at speed and offered buyers a wide array of options to create a remarkably powerful and comfortable cruiser. This example has power steering, power brakes, the Deluxe Interior Group, air conditioning, power windows and an AM/FM radio, lending the idea that this car was one of the better-equipped Trans Ams of 1971. Rolling on Honeycomb wheels with Goodyear Polyglas tires, the Trans Am is presented in Lucerne Blue with white striping and interior, a fabulous combination that’s both elegant and aggressive all at once. Complete with Soft Ray-tinted glass, this Trans Am is one for the books.
