1971 Chevrolet Corvette Lt1 Ncrs Top Flight

Description

A true RARE and Classic combination of the third gereration Corvette. At a mere 72,700 original miles, and full Canadian delivery documentation, this Stingray is a fine example of a true N.C.R.S. Top Flight award winning classic. The restoration was just completed in September of 2015 by World Famous Corvette Mike, Anaheim California. Even after the introduction of the of the mark IV big-block engine in the corvette line up, The small block corvette nirtured by engineer Zora Arkus Duntov always accounted for the majority of corvette sales. Corvette number 250,000 rolled off the assembly line in 1969, but the celebration was muted by the need to continue improving the third generation Corvette. Alarmed by the motoring press’ response to the new Stingray, John DeLorean resolved to make quality control the Corvette group’s top priority. the 1970 model had been delayed 4 months by a factory strike, the new inspection regime slowed production even more. Teams were mandated to resolve any problem before sending a car on its way. Few external changes were made, interiors were upgraded in the first of several steps to make the Stingray more luxurious. In the 1970 line up, the LT1 option option was added, which used racing grade internals, a solid lifter-cam, and many other additions to enhance the performance of the Stingray. For 1971, it was one of the least changed model years in appearance. Because of the labor dispute prior, and the slowed production, Chevrolet handled the 1971 production as an extension of 1970. The 1971 was the last model to feature fiber-optics light monitoring system, This LT1 was rated at 330 HP, at 5600 RPM, once again shreeking that distinct banshee howl that always charactorized the high reving small block Corvette.
