This Charger 500 Resto Mod has plenty of R/T DNA, such as a white bumblebee stripe, engine callouts and the Go Wing spoiler complementing the two-stage Sikkens Sublime paint. While the top engine for the Charger 500 was a 383, this one has been graced with an aluminum 528 CI Hemi. Paired with Holley electronic fuel injection, Indy cylinder heads, polished ceramic headers and 3-inch TTI stainless-steel exhaust with X-pipe, the “elephant engine” pumps out 670 HP. A specially built 727 automatic connects the horsepower to a Dana 60 S-Trac rear end with 3.54 gears. Tucked away in the glovebox is a small computer to monitor the EFI system. The undercarriage—which has been media-blasted and sealed in high-gloss black—is supported by a tubular QA1 tubular K-member and lightweight Hotchkis TVS suspension for more modern reflexes on the road. Yet reflexes can only be as good as the driver’s, so a Borgeson quick-ratio power-steering conversion and Viper/Brembo 4-wheel disc brakes play a supporting role. All that rides on 17-inch Billet Specialties wheels.
