This Mustang Mach 1 is equipped with its matching-numbers 351 4-barrel engine and original body panels that have only one repaint in Candy Apple Red with hood blackout and black/gold reflective side decals. During the restoration, the SportsRoof received a new black interior and detailed engine compartment. The underside is coated in the correct red-oxide paint. Nicely equipped, the Mach 1 is optioned with factory air conditioning, FMX Select-Shift automatic transmission, power steering and power front disc brakes. The popular Mustang fastback exterior accessories have also been added: front chin spoiler, pedestal-mount rear wing spoiler, rear-window sports slats and chrome Magnum 500 wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. Based on the new-for-1969 SportsRoof that was freshly restyled with quad headlights, non-functional scoops in the bulging rear quarters and a concave rear panel, the Mach 1 debuted in 1969 as an affordable package that added blackout hood with scoop and click-pins, side stripes, color-keyed racing mirrors, quad exhaust tips, Competition Handling suspension and its own deluxe interior with high-back bucket seats, console, wood-grain trim, red carpet mats, electric clock and Rim-Blow steering wheel. The standard 351 Windsor V-8 was no slouch, especially in 4-barrel form for 290 HP. With muscular appearance and packaged components at an affordable sticker price, the new Mach 1 resonated with muscle-car enthusiasts—Ford sold more than 72,000 in its first year, most with one of the 351 engines. Accompanied by a Marti Report, this restored 1969 Mach 1 is equipped with a highway-friendly 3.00:1 conventional rear axle.
