Description

M40 TH 400 automatic transmission
L72 427/425 HP engine
TH400 transmission
BE-code rear end
Hurst dual gate shifter
140 MPH speedometer
LeMans Blue with Black interior
Mag wheels with Yenko center caps
Goodyear Wide Tread GT tires

Yenko stripes, emblems and SYC headrests
The Camaro here features the L72 427/425 HP engine, which came under COPO 9561, a code that also mandated driveline upgrades. For this car, that included the M40 TH400 transmission and BE-code differential. Yenko’s special sports-car code was COPO 9737, and this added the 140 MPH speedometer, 15-inch wheels and better suspension parts. This car is painted in Lemans Blue with black Yenko stripes that match the black interior. The exterior also features front chin and rear decklid spoilers, 427 emblems on the ZL2 cowl-induction-style hood (mandated by the COPO code as well due to engine clearance), special Yenko callouts, and on this car, lower rocker trim. These were not SS models and lacked a lot of extras. Inside, Yenko installed a Stewart Warner tachometer and gauge package, plus Yenko stripes, emblems and SYC logos on the headrests. A Hurst Dual Gate shifter is between the seats. Riding on mag wheels with Yenko center caps and Goodyear Wide Tread GT tires, this car again appears like the day Francis sold it. The car underwent an extensive sheet-metal restoration with mostly NOS or original vintage GM parts used during the process.
