1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Mark IV V-8 ~ 325 hp

1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Mark IV V-8 ~ 325 hp
$ 15600.00

This Camaro’s L35 396-cu.in. engine is original to the car and, rated by the factory at 325 hp, could offer ample power while supporting the factory air-conditioning option, the latter ordered by the original owner. In stock form, the Mark IV V-8 featured a 10.25:1 compression ratio, a Quadrajet four-barrel, iron crankshaft, hydraulic lifters, and oval-port cylinder heads. During the restoration by the previous owner, a hotter camshaft was installed. The engine has seen only 1,300 miles of driving since the rebuild. More recently, the seller replaced the aftermarket four-barrel on the car with a new Edelbrock AVS2 carburetor (which has an electric choke) for instant starts and smoother operation. Similarly, the distributor was recently replaced to improve responsiveness. The engine is backed by the original Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 three-speed automatic. The prior owner installed a shift kit in 2015; the seller reports that shifting is firm but not harsh. The transfer of torque continues to a 12-bolt Positraction differential that originally contained a 3.07:1 gearset. In the interest of improved performance, yet still possessing decent drivability, the seller recently had a 3.42:1 gearset installed. BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, size P205/70R14 are fitted to 14 x 7-inch Rally wheels.
