Hill was exceedingly careful to maintain factory specifications in executing the car’s transformation, first removing the L36 engine and M21 transmission. He then prepared the driveline to L88 specification, complete with a correctly built 427 CI engine including Winters aluminum heads and intake manifold, Holley 4-barrel carburetor, K66 transistorized ignition and the required M22 close-ratio “Rock Crusher” 4-speed. He continued by installing a Harrison aluminum radiator sans fan shroud, removing the radio and heater, installing F41 suspension components and J50/J56 power-assisted heavy-duty disc brakes. Hill completed the conversion by adding blackwall radial tires mounted on cast aluminum bolt-on wheels, a proper final touch to the car’s muscular appearance. Immaculately finished, this L88-spec 1967 Sting Ray convertible shows just 54,000 miles and it boasts a known ownership history.
