1963 Ford Galaxie 500 Lightweight 425 HP R-Code engine

Description

Correct 427/425 HP R-Code engine

Aluminum T10 4-speed, RC Industries bellhousing
Correct rear end
All correct factory stamps and frame plate
Fiberglass hood, fenders, and trunk lid
Aluminum bumpers
Bostrom seats
Heater, radio and sound deadener delete
Correct rubber mats
Wimbledon White with Red interior
Each one traded its stamped-steel hood, trunk lid, front fenders and fender aprons for fiberglass units; further weight was shaved by substituting the steel front and rear bumpers with aluminum pieces. Bostrum lightweight bucket seats replaced the stock bench front seats, and everything that did not serve the car’s purpose was removed from the interior and trunk, including the heater, radio, body sealer, sound deadener, clock, armrests, trunk mat, spare tire and tools, and even the carpets, which were replaced with a thin black rubber mat. The R-code 427/425 HP engine powering the lightweights featured cross-bolted mains, a solid-lifter cam, two Holley 4-barrel carburetors on a high-rise aluminum intake, cast-iron headers and other trick pieces. Backed through an RC Industries bellhousing by a BorgWarner T-10 4-speed, the 427 drove a 4.11-geared 9-inch rear end.
