The Grand Prix were produced for that initial 1962 model year—all with 389 CI V-8 power in several tune levels including 4-barrel units and triple-carbureted, Tri-Power engine choices. Benefiting from a frame-off restoration with no expense spared, this first-year Grand Prix features an optional Tri-Power 389 CI V-8 engine with 4-speed manual transmission. Refinished in Ensign Blue, it retains body-color floors and the original Black interior, with the exception of the carpeting. Chrome and stainless brightwork was restored to as-new condition.
Appointed with front bucket seats and a floor console, the Grand Prix features clean styling with minimal bright trim and Pontiac’s trademark twin-element grille, along with a stylish faux convertible roof treatment. Features and options include gauges and a factory console-mounted tachometer, remote outside mirror, padded dash, power-assisted brakes and steering, and the useful reel-out trunk/trouble light. Riding on a set of innovative eight-lug aluminum wheels with integral brake drums mounting a redline radial tires, this very fine Grand Prix includes a bias-ply spare, roadside jack, and tools inside the trunk compartment.
