The front suspension is literally even racier, having come from no less a performer than the competition-purposed 2005 Mustang FR500C race car, which incorporates coilover struts, special control arms, a sway bar and power steering. Power disc brakes at all four corners are another significant improvement, and handling is further aided by the car’s low stance and its BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires on American Racing Torq Thrust D wheels. Also below decks is a fuel cell for added safety. The Starliner’s unmistakable pillarless fastback silhouette and signature Ford styling remain intact and beautifully finished in black with the correct chrome and bright metal adornments that distinguish the Galaxie 500 Starliner. The new black and white interior is likewise trimmed in factory fashion with a split-bench seat and the stock dash, but with such well-considered upgrades as a leather-wrapped 3-spoke aluminum racing-style steering wheel, a tilt steering column, column-mounted tach, dash-mounted auxiliary gauges and a Hurst shifter.
