Beneath the hood here is the 409/360 HP engine, the design with its signature W-head configuration and a 4-barrel carburetor. This in turn is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. The redesigned 1961 sheet metal is covered in deep-toned Honduras Maroon with white accenting, while the interior is done in two-tone gray materials. There is a column-mounted tachometer and the small consolette for the shifter. The exterior displays the crossed-flag, SS and Impala insignia as well. Wearing its restoration quite well, this 409 Impala rides on BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewall tires, with full-size tri-point spinner hubcaps.
