1958 Nash Metropolitan Convertible 3-speed column shifted transmission

Description

British built 1500cc 4-cylinder engine
3-speed column shifted transmission
10,000 original miles
Two-tone Sunburst Yellow and Frost White paint
12 volt system
Map light and cigar lighter
Optional heater and radio
New top, interior and tonneau cover
Featured in the strikingly lovely color combination of Sunburst Yellow over Frost White, the little Met likely brings happiness wherever it’s seen. The classic black and white interior is positively noir, the brightwork inside and out is astonishingly clean and the entire package is agonizingly adorable. Propelled by a 4-cylinder Austin engine with 3-speed manual transmission, the Met was never meant to be quick or fast, just a smart way to zip around town. This particular Met is well equipped with a map light, electric windshield wipers, cigar lighter, heater, radio and continental kit. The unitized bodies were built by Fisher and Ludlow Company and even the convertibles felt very stiff, much like a modern car. Intended to be the, “second car of a two-car family,” the Nash Metropolitan could take dad to work while mom could use the larger car to shuttle the kids around and run errands.
