1958 Chevrolet Yeoman 283ci V8 Engine

Description

The Yeoman was based on the entry-level Delray and available as a two- or four-door station wagon exclusively for the 1958 model year. This four-door example is said to have been repainted in its current black and white under previous ownership, and features a period dealership badge on its tailgate.

Chrome 15? Rally wheels wear matching trim rings and hubcaps as well as Toyo Extensa A/S tires that were installed in June 2017. The braking system was refurbished with new lines and a dual master cylinder under previous ownership. Suspension modifications include Hyperco springs as well as a Ridetech Street Grip suspension kit, including a rear sway bar, shocks, and more.

The interior is finished in red with tri-color inserts on the front bucket seats, rear bench, and door panels as well as a matching dashboard and carpets. New weatherstripping has reportedly been installed.

Modifications include a column-mounted Sunpro tachometer, a Hurst floor shifter, and a Delco AM radio. The speedometer and odometer are said to have been rebuilt, and total mileage is unknown.

The 283ci V8 was reportedly overbored 0.060? and fitted with an aftermarket camshaft. Additional work included installation of a new starter, generator, and aluminum radiator as well as rebuilds of the carburetor, distributor, and steering box according to the selling dealer.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission that is said to have been overhauled approximately 500 miles ago and is linked to a 3.36:1 rear end via a replacement driveshaft. New floor pans were reportedly added under previous ownership along with a fresh clutch and a dual exhaust system.
