1957 Ford Custom Phase 1 HD 3-speed manual transmission

Description

312/300 HP Thunderbird Special V-8 engine
NOS Phase One supercharged blower
HD 3-speed manual transmission
Solid Center 1957 Wheels
Concours-correct two tone Gray interior with NOS 1957 rubber floor cover
The engine, rated at 300 HP in this application, is now equipped with an NOS Phase One centrifugal supercharger and is detailed with OEM components. Behind the engine is a heavy-duty 3-speed manual transmission. The well-appointed concours-quality two-tone gray interior has the 1957 accessory padded dash, an NOS ‘57 rubber floor cover and even AM radio, but there was no question this Ford Custom had but one purpose: to go fast. At the time, NASCAR allowed both superchargers and fuel injection as factory equipment, though there is no doubt that such vehicles also had great possibilities in the transport business on Thunder Road. Painted overall in bright red, even the solid-center 1957 wheels are painted body color with small-diameter Ford hubcaps and blackwall rubber. However, the party ended in mid-1957, when American manufacturers entered an agreement to cease participation in racing.
