Opening the hood reveals a Chevrolet 6.0 LS2 V-8 with a Corvette-logo engine cover that sheds some light on the original application. The LS2 made its debut in 2005 and was rated for 400 HP and 400 lb-ft of torque in 2005 Corvette trim. A stout rotating assembly forged rods and flat top hypereutectic aluminum-alloy pistons, hydraulic roller camshaft, deep-breathing cylinder heads and high-flow exhaust manifold join forces to make the numbers. The LS2 is mated to a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission, with coilover shocks, Air Ride Technologies suspension and 4-wheel disc brakes for a contemporary ride and competent road handling.
The custom cabin is a blend of grand touring upgrades, handcrafted Street Rod luxury and early ‘50s original equipment. Deep-cushion bolstered leather bucket seats paired with a center console leave bench seating behind, and a banjo steering wheel with Ford-logo horn button on a tilt column offers personalized command. Cream-faced Omega Kustom gauges sit in the body-color dash, and Vintage Air adds four-season climate control. Factory-issue dash trim, window cranks and door pulls accent black paint and matching carpet. The restored and modified second-generation F-series classic is ready to haul into the future on 5-spoke wheels wrapped in low-profile radial tires.
