1947 Lincoln Continental Series 76H V12 ENGINE

Description

Under the long, graceful Continental hood is a Chevrolet crate 350 V-8, with fewer than. The engine block has been painted to match the exterior, and the rest of the visible components are chromed and polished, including the valve covers, the Edelbrock intake manifold, the water pump and the alternator. The engine breathes through painted headers and a custom exhaust.
The GM Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 three-speed automatic transmission as “blueprinted.” The transmission is shifted through the column mounted lever that would’ve operated the manual transmission originally fitted in the Lincoln.
The front suspension has been completely replaced with a Mustang II setup, featuring a steering rack, coil springs and telescopic shocks. The steering system is power assisted, and there are no leaks from the pump or hoses. The rear leaf springs are the original style equipped on the Continental, but the rear differential has been swapped for a Ford 9-inch center section. The brakes have been upgraded with discs up front, a dual-reservoir master cylinder and a vacuum brake booster.
